Suhani Bhatnagar, who played Aamir Khan’s on-screen daughter in 2016 blockbuster film ‘Dangal’, passed away at the age of 19 on Saturday.
“We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani. Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts. May you rest in peace,” Aamir Khan Productions said in a post on social media platform X.
The reason behind Bhatnagar’s demise is not clear. According to a PTI report, she died at AIIMS on Friday at the age of 19. Some media reports suggested that Suhani Bhatnagar had developed medical complications following a leg fracture. She was admitted to the hospital on February 7 and breathed her last on Friday.
Who was Suhani Bhatnagar?
Suhani Bhatnagar shot to fame after playing the role of a young Babita Phogat in Nitesh Tiwari-directorial ‘Dangal’ in 2016. The wrestling drama based on the life of Mahavir Phogat shattered several box office records in India and abroad. Aamir Khan had played the role of Mahavir Phogat while Zaira Waseem had essayed the role of Babita’s elder sister Geeta Phogat.
The older versions of Geeta and Babita were played by Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra respectively. The film also featuring Sakshi Tanwar, released across theatres on December 23, 2016.

After the news of Suhani Bhatnagar’s death spread on social media, netizens expressed shock and paid tributes to the late Dangal actor.
